About Me-

Since 1976 I have participated in every facet of residential and commercial carpentry, a part of that time was involved in restoration work which yielded insight into past craftsman skills and techniques of which I use constantly.

I have constructed, designed and constructed all types of cabinetry and furniture. The variety of products produced, have honed my skills to what I consider artisan-craftsman status.

I still enjoy carpentry and cabinetry; over the last ten years I have been exploring design and construction of drums and musical instruments. My drums have evolved from my “Walkabout” finger drums to a dumbek/cajon style drum. All bodies are out of Baltic birch, Baltic birch heads and custom tops out of solid woods. So far these heads include: juniper cedar, long leaf pine, Spanish cedar, Osage orange. This is an ever-expanding area as so many woods have tonal quality.

I have designed and constructed a 4-string electric bass out of Osage orange and cypress with two 5-string in the design stage. I have begun two prototypes of octagonal bodied guitars out of native woods. These are very exciting and challenging projects.
